A 'future fic' trilogy, and a 'future pic' to match. Set 'ten years' into the future (from Season 3), Buffy and Giles have married and are now the parents of a little girl. This particular ficpic is meant to look old, worn, and faded, as if it's been in Giles' wallet for some fifteen years. It actually makes an appearance as such in the third part of the trilogy.
